Posted February 05, 2018 09:25:18 The Discovery Channel has announced it will be discontinuing all dog toys.
The channel, which is owned by Viacom, said it will stop selling Dog Toys and will be selling Discovery Kits and other toys starting March 17.
“Dogs have become increasingly popular and there is no doubt that dogs have become a part of the American lifestyle,” the Discovery channel said in a statement.
“As part of this change, we have decided to stop selling all dog products and accessories.”
Discovery, which also owns Fox News, ABC and NBC, said the decision was made to ensure the “diversity of dog owners” and to allow them “to continue to create new toys and experiences with their pets.”
“We’ve made a commitment to making sure that we will continue to work closely with pet owners and their dog owners to ensure they are enjoying the joys of sharing their dogs with us,” Discovery said.
Discovery has also decided to offer dog toys and dog products at discounted prices, starting March 3.
However, customers who purchased a Dog Toy or Discovery Kit from Discovery before March 3 will be able to use them for a year from March 3, 2018.
